Today we worked on our Identity Icebergs. We talked about how students are like icebergs, we only see 10% of them, and 90% is "hiding" and teachers work hard to get to know them better.
In Math, students completed their Daily Schedule, and started creating their own duration word problems!
In the afternoon, students used chalk pastels to finsh their icebergs!
Our students explored identity and self-expression through a series of art tasks. In the Self Portraits, they represented themselves using colour, line, and detail to show both how they look and how they feel inside. Circles All Around Us helped them reflect on the communities and relationships that surround and support them. In the One Word project, each student chose a word that best captured who they are or what they value most, then expressed it visually. Finally, with the Identity Icebergs, students showed the idea that, like an iceberg, much of who we are lies beneath the surface—reminding us that there is always more to each person than what we first see.
We look forward to sharing their work at the Open House on Thursday, September 25th from 5:00 -7:00.
WOW! We have already collected $57.45 for the Terry Fox Foundation!
Thank You for your donations! You can STILL donate Thursday and Friday!
