Sequencing, Robots and A Safe and Caring Classroom

We are reviewing what a sequence is...and exploring geometric sequences!

Ask your families if these are a geometric sequence...and then PROVE to them if they are or are not!

Last week we created dragon scales for a school-wide dragon for a dragon dance!

Thank you to Mrs. Qi and her Grade Three studnets for the Dragon Dance!

We explored Ozobots and Coding Mice in Science today!

Students created the planets and the space station to "be" the robots!

Wednesday is PINK Shirt Day!
Our goal is to have ALL students in pink to raise awareness about bullying in schools and online!

Some students have been sharing that they have “crushes” on classmates and, at times, encouraging one another to kiss. While it is completely natural at this age for children to begin noticing friendships in new ways or to talk about having a crush, school is not an appropriate place for behaviors such as encouraging kissing or putting pressure on peers in this way.

We have had conversations in class about what respectful behavior looks like. We discussed that everyone deserves to feel safe and comfortable at school, and that teasing others about who they like—or encouraging physical contact—can make classmates feel embarrassed or uncomfortable.

Our focus is on building a safe, caring classroom community where students treat one another with kindness and respect.
