Today was a weird day...
Mrs. Sloane did NOT take any pictures!!!
We started our morning with inferencing! Students learned that to make an inference, they need to use clues from the text, the movie, the story or the situation, along with their background knowledge to infer!
In Math, we explored Prime and Composite! Students understand...now they just need to continue to build their basic fact fluency to help them decide if a number is Prime or Composite!
We started learning about the role of laws in our communities and compared laws and rules!
Rules are guidelines made for smaller groups or specific places, like schools, sports teams, or families.
They tell people what they can and cannot do in that specific setting.
Who makes them? Usually teachers, coaches, parents, or leaders of that group.
Example: “No running in the hallway” is a school rule.
Laws are official legal rules that apply to everyone in a city, province, or country.
They are designed to keep society safe, fair, and organized. Breaking a law usually has legal consequences.
Who makes them? Governments make laws. At different levels:
Federal government makes laws for the whole country.
Provincial/territorial governments make laws for their region.
Municipal governments make local bylaws for cities or towns.
Example: “It’s illegal to steal” is a law.
